What can I say other than wow! I woke up this morning to rush over to computer to check out the new Electric Zombie line and I was blown away. Here is the rundown 13 New tees, 1 Baseball tee, Guys/Girls cut and sew polo, 1 hoodie, 4 posters and get this Guy/Girls Electric Zombie Jeans! Now that is one hell of a release!

First thing that was pretty obvious is that this line is extremely different than past lines. Gone are the bright colored tees and illustrations. In their place you will find mostly black shirts with more muted down color palettes. To me this is a more “grown up” look, I guess that is if you could make zombies, monsters and gore more grown up looking!

Let’s talk jeans for a second. This marks a HUGE step in any indie clothing lines existence and there are very few companies that actually travel down this road. I must say I was extremely impressed with the way jeans look on the site. The attention to detail and customization is top notch. Custom metal Electric Zombie Rivets, Black Metal “EZ” button, Custom Angled Pockets front and back, Extra slit pocket on back left pocket, “Kill Or Be Killed” Strip on front right side pocket and an Electric Zombie Back Label. These jeans have been made to impress. The fit of the jeans is listed as standard slim but not skinny and retail for only $45.

Im absolutely loving all the pieces in the t shirt line. Even though Kyle has decided to move away from bright colors there are still a fair amount of traditionally illustrated tees to choose from. My favorite tees in the line would have to be the Badge and Shield shirts. To me these shirts are something that a more grown up audience can rock and rock often. Both designs are one color but still show off the EZ style without being overly obnoxious. Here is the best part all tees in the line range from $16 to $18!

I also must say the posters are a great touch. 18″ x 24″ screen prints of some of the best artwork the line has to offer. Posters sell for $25.

Overall, this is definitely Kyle and Electric Zombie’s biggest, baddest and most professional line to date. Make sure to head over to buyelectriczombie.com to view the entire line as well as pick up some sweet new threads.

Glamour Kills is a brand that has continuously impressed me with their releases, but they are also a brand that in the past have been pretty easy to pigeonhole. The GK style can usually be summed up into a category of loud obnoxious colors and even louder graphics that the Warped Tour teens and tweens eat up in heavy doses. This over the top style has at times really drawn a line in the sand for people to either love or hate the brand. That all being said, I have been very impressed with the last two lines that GK has produced. Glamour Kills could easily just keep cranking out shirts with bright pink splatters and over sized graphics, but it seems to me they are really trying to push their brand into new territories.

The new fall line is a perfect example of the new slightly more grown up look of GK. Introduced for the first time are cut and sew items such as cardigans and button up flannels. These items really show GK trying to further their customer base while remaining true to their style. Aside from the new cut and sew pieces you are going to notice a lot more toned down color schemes that coincide with more of a fall look. By toning down color schemes and introducing more mature looking cut and sew pieces I really feel like GK is doing a great job at introducing new products while not alienating their current customers.

Overall I am extremely happy with the new line. The prices are fairly reasonable and the designs are spot on. I am really looking forward to more cut and sew pieces from these guys. Now we just need a sale to coincide with the launch!

Favorite Piece:

The GK Cardigan – $34.99
Very effective simple design, I can definitely see rocking this during the fall season.

Least Favorite:

The only design I really wasn’t feeling was the Stand and Unite shirt. Overall the design is extremely simple and lacking. If this was released for a lesser known brand and it would probably remain unsold.

Overall Grade: A-
