Lewis from Suffoca Clothing has it going on! He is involved in every aspect of his tee business, from designing to printing and packaging the shirts there is really nothing that Lewis doesn’t do. Anyone that runs or has attempted to run a tee business knows it’s a very daunting and time consuming task that is extremely difficult to run well even with outside help. This is what I admire most about Suffoca, the fact that not only is Lewis running all aspects of his business by himself, the guy is doing an knockout job.

Take a second to check out www.suffoca.com. From the website, look book, tees, and even a short movie about how Suffoca is ran everything is top-notch.

Along with the brand new site is a brand new line of tees and prints that are pure win. The designs are very original and cohesive to each other. Each shirt runs £20.00 or roughly $30 US, which is a bit steep for a tee when buying here in the US, but you can definitely tell that these our quality shirts. Each shirt is printed by hand on 100% cotton tees complete with a custom sewn in tee tag.

I really can’t say enough about how impressed I am with the brand. Make sure you take a second to peep out their LOOK BOOK and also watch the movie they put together, posted below.

To be honest I had no idea what I was going to find when checking out Darkbunnytees.com, but I must admit I was pleasantly surprised! Darkbunnytees really has little to do with bunnies and everything to do with movies!

Each tee is a individually designed and drawn by hand by DBT owner Alex Chenery. What I love about these movie based tees is the creativity and pure originality that each piece exhibits. I have honestly never seen movie tees that are done with the kind of spin that DBT has. Aside from the originality of the tees they have picked some great movies to make tees of, such as Back to the Future, Alien, Anchorman, and their newest release The Warriors.

Each tee is packed individually in a custom VHS case and is printed on vintage style fitted tees and will set you back £25 with free shipping in the UK or $37. The price point on these tees are definitely a bit higher than your average tee and honestly might scare away a some potential buyers, especially US buyers. Alex justifies the price based on the quality of the print, shirt and the fact that each shirt is limited to 100 or less actual pieces.

Overall I really like the originality of the look and approach to the tees and look forward to see their future releases!

(UPDATE: Tees have been marked down to £19)

Check out the entire line at: www.darkbunnytees.com

I came across this site a few weeks back and have been monitoring since then to see what I thought about it. Well the consensus is in Jackthreads.com is an incredible site for finding some pretty amazing deals usually around 50% off or more.

So here is the basic breakdown of the site. Each day a new deal from a new company is offered on JackThreads, quantities usually seem to be pretty limited so if you see something you like you better jump on it. Over the past few weeks they have had deals on companies from Obey, Skull Candy, Nixon and Mishka to name a few. Products as you can see range from headphones, sunglasses, and watches to killer t shirts, jacket, sweatshirts and more.

The site claims to be an “invite only” sign up, but I was able to sign up without an invite. If you do need an invite just email us follow the following link: http://www.jackthreads.com/invite/user243269

In todays down economy its great to be able to get deals such as this on some very amazing products. IATT gives this site thumbs up!

For those of you not familiar with the artwork of Mathiole I suggest you check out the 22 year old Brazilian artist’s website www.mathiole.com. I have always been a big fan of his water color inspired designs and his piece that recently won the Incubus contest at DesignByHumans</a> titled “Wish You Were Here” really hits the nail on the head when it comes to this style.

The design works well on both the guys and girls shirts, while i prefer how the water color drips extend from the top to the bottom of the guys shirt. The shirt is now available for $25 and looks to be in stock in almost all sizes. Mathiole’s design coupled with the high quality DesignByHumans tee is a win win!

Ladies and Gentlemen I give to you SHRED Clothing! From the mind behind howtostartaclothingcompany.com and the now defunkt Mediocore Clothing, Jon Kruse. There has been a lot of hype going into this line before release and now that I have had a chance to personally see the line, I can say the hype was well deserved!

The launch of SHRED is textbook how to get a line off to a great start. First off the artwork is incredible and more importantly the screen print of the artwork is off the charts!!! As you can see these designs are HUGE, and sometimes when you get such a huge screen print it can feel like you are wearing a big piece of plastic on the front of your shirt. This is definitely not the case with the SHRED line. The screen print is soft and blends well with the shirt, resulting in an extremely comfortable and wearable piece of art. The quality of the shirt is also spot on, using American Apparel which is quickly becoming industry standard.

If you are looking to launch a brand definitely take some notes here. If you are looking for a few more summer t-shirts get out the credit card its time to order. The only thing that SHRED can improve upon to really take it over the top is the packaging. I am sure we will see this in the near future. This line is definitely for fans of Electric Zombie, Rockett, Zombie Licorice and fans of IRON MAIDEN!

A Couple Questions with Jon Kruse

Short Company Bio:
I threw around the idea of creating a badass clothing line along the lines of Rockett and Electric Zombie back in December and decided to pursue it along with a few others a couple months later. We just launched the store along with our sister website shrednews.com, which is going to have articles about the music scene. I am really proud of everything we have done so far and am excited for the future. We are sponsoring bands and are going to be at all the major concerts in the following year.

Tee Shirt material/Printing process:
All of our shirts are printed on American Apparel, which are the finest shirts I have worn. Everything is screen printed by the guys at Storenvy and they have done an amazing job. The prints are super soft and the colors turned out amazing. You really need to see these close up to appreciate them.

Where can we purchase this shirt?
You can get them on our site shredclothing.com or at the IAMTHETREND STORE

Website:fortysixtyphoto.com

So how did Forty Sixty Photography start?

Forty Sixty Photography started when the 3 of us decided that taking photos was exactly what we needed to be doing. We put together our knowledge and experience from working in many different industries and put Forty Sixty together to provide people with a photography company they can really relate and connect with.

You guys have worked with some awesome clients such as Butch Walker, Against Me! and Four Years Strong. Do you prefer shooting bands and musicians?

Chris: I personally toured for a number of years so being around bands and knowing what type of shots they want is second nature to me. I love traveling so shooting bands just makes a lot of sense to me at the moment! It is also a ton of fun, and never really “feels” like work.

Conor: We really love shooting bands! We’ve been blessed with having a lot of experience with musicians and it would feel wrong if we weren’t working in the music industry with them. They are always fun to work with and are also open to many creative ideas for shoots.

Forty Sixty is made up of three guys, do you guys collaborate on shoots or is it more individual work?

We like to collaborate and assist each other whenever the chance comes up because you can always use a helping hand with photo equipment. And a second set of eyes there is always a good thing as well. But for the most part, we still do our own individual projects, because each of us have varying styles for each shoot we do.

The first time I came across you guys was because of some shirts that you have put together had been surfacing on some T-Shirt blogs. Where did that idea come from?

We always had that idea in our head from the beginning. We couldn’t find any really good photography based t-shirts that we liked enough to buy so we decided we would provide the industry with our own. At the same time, it brands ourself as a company that can do more than just take photos.

The shirts look incredible! Will this be a ongoing line or is it more of a one time shot?

Thanks! We really love the way they came out. These designs will definitely be ongoing, but that won’t stop us from making more in the future. We’re hoping to be able to release the designs on new shirt colors in the very near future.

You guys have done a great job branding yourselves! You have formed a company image, started a blog and a clothing line. What advice can you give to other photographers and entrepreneurs out there?

Thanks! It’s really tough to get your name out there when every industry you look at is saturated with a ton of people all offering the same thing. It is incredibly important to brand yourself in a way that shows people you can offer more than the next guy, and that if they choose to work with you, their experience will be a great one. Making connections and building relationships so they feel connected is what it’s all about.

So if someone wanted to get a hold of Forty Sixty Photography how do they do so?

What has been your favorite photo shoot?

Chris: Shooting bands is definitely a passion of mine, and it is very hard to choose just one band that is the definitive favorite. Every time it is a new experience, and you get to have a lot of interesting conversation just getting to know the people that you are shooting and hearing about their different experiences on the road. I love shooting for Hey Monday, because they are very close friends of mine and every time we shoot it is just very relaxed and fun because we are all so comfortable with each other.

Any favorite bands at the moment?

Chris: Miniature Tigers, Ryan Adams, A Rocket to the Moon, Brighten, The Agency, Butch Walker, Matt Nathanson, and too many more to list!

Conor: Drop Dead Gorgeous, Attack Attack, I See Stars, Confide, 3oh3!, A Day To Remember, Moving Mountains, Cage, Weathermen, and a ton of others.

Sean: I can haz music-burger?!
