In the beginning we created sketches
and the sketches were without form
and chaos was upon them,
and then we said “Let’s wake up the people!”
and Dogma begun to be.
DOGMA is a duo of artists/creative designers, DOGMA is an idea,
an art project that wants to evolve in every possible field.
We started building the fundaments of this idea back in 2007, beginning to plot and sketch.
We get ourselves dirty with home made silkscreens, painting on everything
and every once a while doing some art exhibitions.
We work hard for long time, we spent every cent and most of our sleep in this project.
We believe that our reality doesn’t work right.
We believe that dark is the future.
We believe in visual violence as aesthetic form.
We believe in provocation and controversy.
We believe in our idea. We are our idea.
We believe the DOGMA.
DOGMA has been created to be outstanding.
We hate standards.
The color of our tees has been inspired by coal mines, abandoned factories, polluted skies and atomic test sites.
We developed an artisanal process through garment dye and special washes to get our “post atomic grey”,
because the industrial production aim to flatten everything and it’s a feeling we won’t.
We love the hand made feeling, where each piece is unique.
We did screenprints, trying all kind of inks but we were fascinated from digital printing.
We started our research and as DIY supporters we began experimenting builds of a digital printer.
When we got it working , we realized that all those happy colors weren’t reflecting our dark inspirations.
So we said “Let’s make it dark as hell” so we customized the printer to do 4 deep blacks,
we saw that darkness of 4 blacks was good and we called it “damn black”.
And DOGMA began to take shape.
