Head Vs. Heart is a company that is striving to deliver the absolute highest quality product at the cheapest price possible and from first glance I think they are on track! So what exactly makes one indie clothing line higher quality then the next? To me this comes down to three attributes, quality of the blank (t-shirt), quality of the print and the overall design of the shirt.

Quality of the Blank
In a world where almost 90% of what indie clothing brands print on is American Apparel, there are other nice options out there. Instead of going with standard American Apparel, Head Vs. Heart has decided to spend a little more on higher quality Alternative Apparel. To me Alternative Apparel just fits a little bit better and is a little softer, but this of course comes with a price that most brands would rather not pay.

Quality of the Print
For me this might be the most important of the three attributes. It doesn’t matter how cool a design may be if the print isn’t spot on. Head Vs. Heart has once again decided to opt for more expensive and higher quality discharge and water-based inks. These inks basically become at one with the tee allowing for the softest most comfortable print. Basically if you would run your hand over the design you would not be able to feel the print. Teamed up with Alternative Apparel shirts discharge and water based inks, I imagine wearing this shirt to be extremely comfortable.

Head Vs. Heart that strives for simplicity and effectiveness over loud and complex designs. Their basic aim is to create tees that are wearable pieces of art. With only 5 tees under their belt it’s hard to get a really firm read on if they have accomplished this yet. While I like the designs that they have come out with, there really isn’t a tee that really just stands out and demands my attention. That being said my favorite design out of the bunch would be Vampiress

Now that we have talked about the quality, lets talk price. The tees are being currently sold for only $19.95 which is just incredible when you take into consideration the high quality blank and ink! I really think that Head Vs. Heart has laid a strong foundation and will develop into a very successful company. I am just waiting to see a few more designs and what the company does to further develop their brand image.
