Warm Me Up!
An Introduction to Hoodies for Tee Lovers
By Bo Mekavibul
With the average temperature beginning to drop in may locations, it’s becoming more and more difficult to wear a tee by itself. Although many companies have not yet released their winter lines, you can still find cool hoodies if you look hard enough! There are quite a few companies that not only produce awesome tees, but also cater our needs once the cold weather strikes. To get you started with your late autumn/winter wardrobe shopping, here’s a short list of sweatshirts from companies that can satiate your tee design-loving needs in the face of chilly conditions. I have selected ones that are still mostly in-stock, so that you can head over to the shop if you like what you see!

Cherry Sauce – DinoJeep Hoodie

There are tons of dinosaur designs out there in the industry, but this design from Cherry Sauce is especially neat for a hoodie. Inspired by Jurassic Park, this zip-up sweatshirt shows a Dilophosaurus driving a jeep and wreaking all sorts of havoc. This huge print looks amazing, and since it’s printed on black, it will go with virtually any color tee that you decide to wear. Cherry Sauce also offers a few of their other designs in sweatshirt form, and you should definitely check them out if you’re looking for zipped hoodies with large, colorful prints.

Fuzzy Ink – Handlebar Hold Up Hoodie

Fuzzy Ink is well-known for its mustache logo and mustache-inspired products. One of its latest designs, titled “Handlebar Hold Up,” has also been printed on a pullover sweatshirt. The design depicts a moustache where each end evolves to look more like an arm. This moustache is no longer just facial hair, but also a pair of forelimbs ready to fire revolvers! If you like moustaches and want a hoodie that shows a creative take on them, then this Fuzzy Ink sweatshirt is perfect for you! In the shop, you will also be able to find pullovers of some other unique designs.

Linty Fresh – Dotted Line Hoodie

“Dotted Line” comes with prints on the front and back that go hand in hand. On the front, there is a pair of scissors, while on the back, there are a bunch of neat designs with dotted lines around them that are meant to be cut out with these scissors. The black and white suits the design well, as the back print looks like a sheet of printer paper full of cut-out pieces. If you’re looking to complete your look with a funky design with a very basic color palette, check out this hoodie at Linty Fresh. They also currently offer two pullovers in addition to this zip-up.

Electric Zombie – Static Custom Reversible Hoodie

Are you looking for a hoodie that functions as two different ones? If you’re into zombie-themed designs, look no further because Electric Zombie has an incredible reversible sweatshirt with zombies on one side and a much brighter composition on the other. I have always thought that reversible jackets were neat and this piece is no exception! The two sides are extremely dissimilar from one another, and I bet that people won’t even realize that it’s the same zip-up if you don’t tell them. What’s better than getting two awesome hoodies for the price of one?

Thriving Ink – Dead Geisha Hoodie

After completely revamping their website, Thriving Ink released some sweet new apparel by big names in the t-shirt design industry, including Pale Horse and Hydro74. “Dead Geisha” is a design that catches you off-guard, as you’re expecting to see a beautiful face instead of a skinless skull. This high contrast in the subject matter is what I love about this design, and having the eyes be the only details with color gives this dead geisha extra depth as a character. Along with “Dead Geisha,” Thriving Ink also offers two other black jackets in the online store.

2012 Threads – Mask Logo Hoodie

Not only are there books and movies being released about the Mayan prophecy of 2012, but you can also find apparel inspired by the year that the Mayan calendar ends. 2012 Threads was one of the companies in IATT’s list of best new clothing companies, and in their shop, you can find clothing inspired by the Mayan predictions and Mesoamerican art. Along with amazing tees, 2012 Threads also released a logo hoodie with a large, intricate mask design on the back. The details are superb and the illustration is absolutely beautiful as a whole. Stop by the 2012 Threads to pick up your very own Mask Logo sweatshirt to prepare for the winter months!
